Usually in my family, the Godparents buy the baby's dress or suit. They also give their Godchild a gold chain with a Religious charm.

I couldn't say. I don't believe it does any good to Baptize a child. They are already innocent as they can be. Once people have committed sins and then NEED to be washed clean of their sins, then I would say get Baptized. I never have understood what sort of sins an infant could have committed.
Shouldn't Baptism be a choice?
I mean, just say Charles Manson was Baptized as an infant...did it really do him any good? Did it make him a better person? No, but "IF" he were to get Baptized today...that would be something. Because obviously he is in serious need of it.
That is just my views on Baptism.

Maybe a childrens Bible or a nice set of scriptures for when she grows up? A tiny bracelet (NOT a necklace - choking hazard!) such as a christening bracelet, specifically designed for the occasion. A prayer for her wall, which you could write yourself and have framed, to keep a reminder of God in her life. Maybe a picture of a Bible scene. You wan't something that she can enjoy while she is young, but still treasure when she's older :)

Wait until the Child understands what baptism is before you do anything. Obviously you don't even know what Baptism means.

I know a person whose baby drowned during a baptism. I have read about babies getting pneumonia, and dying from baptism. So get a towel, and life jacket.

I always give a bible to the one being baptized. I would suggest a good child's Bible...one with pictures.
