Both. This is a good place to find other atheists, because it is hard to do. There are more now only in that they can now be open about being atheist. Before, you would be looked down upon and shunned from most people for being atheist (still happens, but less). I know people that preached the bible decades ago, but were atheists. Society is getting a little more friendly. And evidence (fact) that goes against religion is now being exposed, and embraced.

On a world-wide basis, for every 2 Christians you'll find 1 "non-believer." If there are non-American English speakers on this forum (UK, Australia, etc.), then I would say atheists are probably under-represented.
On the other hand, why would you be be surprised if a cancer Q&A forum had an inordinate amount of doctors?

theres definitly more of them, and yes this seems to be a great place for them to spread their filth.and many of them get on here and complain about all the religious questions.do they not know this is the religion and spirituality section of yahoo answers?to put it in words they may understand: there are other sections in answers that they might like better.but you know what i think, for someone who says they dont believe they sure do have a lot of input.i think they r just so angry at god for not rewarding them for their sin.there is a god,and you will meet him at the judgement.will you believe then?if you wait that long it will be too late but if i were a betting man i would say that you will believe as well as regret.

I know youve called me an atheist many times. do some research before you make a fool of yourself. Im not atheist im a Native American Pagan. My ancestors were burned at the stake because of christians and I have my own reasons for despising christianity and its ignorant sheep.

I think there are more people who are unafraid to admit to being atheist and this is a great place to come to try to answer questions, since most have extensively studied the Bible for many years.

Religion is an unstable crutch, which the majority of intelligent people simply don`t need to lean on. Darwin`s Origin of the species or God. We have archaelogical proof as far as Darwin is concerned. As for God? I think not.

"... or is Answers just a meeting place for Christians?"

Gosh: open your eyes. Most of askers/answerers in "religion & spirituality"-section are Christians.

You just over-focus on those who are'nt Christians. That's all.

You were just never exposed to us all, we are quiet IRL. We don't walk around carrying atheist bibles or proclaiming our beliefs on street corners

i am an atheist and i think the second may be true because the atheists do not waste their time on religious things and the internet is their way of recreation more than it is of the believers.
