' Mudra ' and asana postures used by Buddhist monks are based on the Patanjali Yogashastra which is also not the original composition or creation by Maharishi Patanjali. Rather he had incorporated the age old practises prevailing those days, in a codified form as Yoga Darshan which was followed by Lord Buddha as taught to him by His Guru. These traditions and practises had gone to Greece and Persia of ancient days since the days of Rishi Cashyap in whose name Caspian sea is there and the Greeks were greatly influenced by the Vedic and Sankhya Philosophy by Great scholars like Cashyap and Gemini and Patanjali, and later Panini.
Muhammad could not have heard of Indian yoga, though the Buddhist influence had been penetrating the Middle East for many centuries; but this idea was not entirely unknown to Semitic traditions which he knew and in some ways had made his own. Jesus had preached that " out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornicattions, theft, false witness, blashphemies." But Muhammad does not appear to have benefitted from this source. The fact is that he founded a very outward religion.
The quranic verses are reputed to have come from a mind in trance, but that in itself gives them no true spiritual validity. The Yogas tell us trance is possible at every level of the mind, but that the trances of a passionate , angry, and deluded mind (i.e. of a mind characterised by Kama, Krodha, and Moha) are not to be trusted - behind them often stands a lunatic or a malevolent criminal.

Muhammad is the last messenger, he is not the only messenger.
He follows in the footstep of the other messenger from Adam, Noah to Abraham, Moses and so on.
We believe the islamic teaching started from the first human, Adam a.s. which is submission to the one and only GOD there is.
The bible has passages of Jesus and the other prohet prostate and bowing in glorifying God. This is the same posture that Muhammad is following. So we dont believe he is following buddhism, futhermore there is no history of buddhism in arabia during those time except judaism, chritianity and paganism.

Truth, or knowledge isn't subjective to one person or group of people. truth is wide spread and free for all. One can get truth with study and application. Islam is an Abrahamic religion, so you would have to look at Judiasm to get a clear answer. But, just because two religions have truth, an ultimate truth of prayer, doesn't meam they copied each other. But I'm going to study Buddhism because I didn't realize the similaties. It interesting.

Probability could be that Islam might have taken something good from Buddhism, which was older. However, research in this aspect and its inclusion could be considered a good sign.

I think Buddha was Influenced by Adam. The posture of shitting was similar in the time of Buddha as it was in the garden of Eden. They all used to go outdoors for shitting.

There are amazing similarities between islam and buddhism. Many are drawn to speak of buddah as a prophet of god, but then as one posting above me said, they can't have idolistic worship. That's going in to the namby-pamby "let's accept all as one" deal, and "our god is the same as yours" when in fact, they are NOT.
muhammed is a false prophet!!!
Islam doesn't want pictures or dipictions of muhammed because the fear would be idol worship, yet they bow to and pray to a wall 5 times a day.
Changes in the koran/quran they say did not happen:
http://answering-islam.org/Quran/Text/index.html
Original sin- How can someone believe that man is anywhere worthy of going to Heaven simply by being a human being and God's infinite power to forgive sin? Of course God can forgive all sin, there is no question in that. He made man perfect, and man fell from grace by sinning. Adam turned his back on God, and you expect God to simply just forgive? Man CHOSE to sin and continues to CHOOSE to sin. That being the case, God made it where we can CHOOSE to either continue being a sinner or to accept salvation. No-one is worthy of gaining access to Heaven except through the cleansing blood of Jesus.
Atonement- Adam asked forgiveness and it was so? No-one disputes that, no-one disputes that anyone can be forgiven of sin, the problem is that God and Heaven are perfection. There is no room for anything short of perfection. We can be forgiven, but that means we have sinned, which right there makes us imperfect. On Judgement Day, even if you prayed for forgiveness as you die and are forgiven, you are still imperfect because although you are forgiven of sin, you are imperfect in God's eyes because you HAVE sinned. To be perfect, you would have to have NEVER sinned. On Judgement Day, those that are saved will be washed with the pure blood of Jesus, and that is what will be seen, that perfect blood of Jesus. It is one thing to be forgiven, it is something totally different to be made perfect in the eyes of God to gain admittance to Heaven.
