I know that it's dangerous to use a flea collar and a pesticide at the same time, but is it safe to take the flea collar off a few days before applying the pesticide (Frontline)??

Yes I think it is safe. Make sure to use the exact amount of frontline stated on the box. Also make sure it is the good kind like The Program or Frontline don't use the cheap stuff like Heartz. I put heartz on my kitty once and it poisoned him and he almost died. Also watch him the day you put it on him and make sure he is acting normal. Sometimes even the good stuff can cause problems.

Using Frontline should be enough to keep of the fleas without using the Flea collar. For Frontline to be it's most effective you have to keep the dog from getting wet 3 days before and 3 days after applying. Sometimes if the dog has damaged skin from itching and biting the fleas one should use Frontline spray until the skin has healed as the skin cannot absorb and distribute the drops properly when damaged. I now have only a problem with fleas on the poultry but none on the dogs or cats at all.

Advantage is best. Frontline is too strong, unless you're in a heavy tick zone. Flea collars are dangerous.

flea collars are useless and a waste of money and time. Frontline is all that you need its a fantastic product. Most flea collars are made of powder anyway and when they get wet are useless and just smell bad!

Flea collars are a good thing to put in your vaccuum cleaner bag. They are NOT good for cats and dogs to wear.

Frontline or Advantage will take care of the fleas in the safest and most effective way. When you vaccuum the fleas will die and not breed in the bag.
