My boyfriend can't get over the fact that I've had numerous partners and a drug laced past. I have stopped both of these acts on my own, years before meeting him. We have been together a year, and since, he has asked me to stop other things I like, such as, smoking, getting tattos, and looking at pornographry.
Should I feel the need to conform? Is he right for me, or trying to make me into someone I'm not?

The biggest part of a relationship is trust. And if you don't have trust, then you have nothing. You need to weight out the pro's and con's. You have to ask yourself if it's worth it. If you can see the 2 of you together when your old, then compromise and make it work. But if you don't than don't waste your time.

I have found that the only way relationships can work is that if you are both trying to change you in the same way. For example, if you want to quit smoking and he wants you to quit too, then it will be easier for you to change. But if you want to keep doing it, and he wants you to stop, you have a big problem. You can keep complying with him but it will be harder and harder, and eventually you will snap and blow him off.

You shouldnt have to change for anyone. Your past is your business and it doesnt have anything to do with him. Lose the loser.
