My hair lightens a lot in the sun every summer, so in the fall I always dye it back to dark brown. I am now 5 months pregnant and was told not to dye my hair. I hear henna is a good all-natural alternative. Have any of you ever used it? If so, did you like the results?

henna's not a good alternative...it coats the hair, and makes it difficult to color it again later, or any other chemicals you may use too!
try getting a reverse highlight done.you just pull through a cap and add the dark color you want...so, you don't get the chemicals absorbed into your skin. as for the fumes...u get that with the henna too (henna has a smell to it, bad smell to me!). you will not get the all over color with the cap, but you can pull through a lot of the hair, and get good coverage anyways!

Henna is quite safe. Just be prepared that all natural henna only dyes the whites to red/orange. I am not sure that natural henna dyes hair to any other color. I have used it. its not bad. u have to keep re-doing it after 1 month tho.

I've used it to darken my hair. My dark brown hair gets nasty blond streaks in the summer, so I cover them up with henna. Make sure you get the right color though, or you'll go orange.

FYI - hair smells like spinach for a couple of days after you use this.

Well, I'm Indian and i've used henna before. But it has no effect on my hair whatsoever. But in a book I read that henna can give an auburn tint. So it might turn your hair orange.

Yes. U can use henna of a good quality. Ur hair will look brownish with it. The shade may vary with the way you prepare the mix.

Henna works, but only on natural hair. I wouldn't use anything if I was pregnant, but that's up to you.
The results vary. I tired it years ago and it looked ok. Just make sure you follow the instructions closely.

I thought henna was specifically made for hair dying! It's good I tell you! It's one of the best natural hair dyes you can get! My sis also uses it! By the way...it's also the longest lasting nail polish I've ever seen! I' talking about MONTHS!

My Mother is also have used Henna treatment for her hair. but there was not a significant change. I think it is is better to get a small portion of Brandi and pour in your head and massage about 5 minutes. that will give a some solution for ur question.

Yes its true its all natural cause its actually made from plants. It works for me but try to use the darker colours instead and dont leave it on for too long otherwise you'll have a more brighter hair
