He got this last Friday, if I was going to catch it would I have gotten it already?

I know someone who stayed in bed for 8 days with a viral infection ......when he went to the doctor they found out it was hepatitis C....there is no disgrace to this, but I would worry about him before I started worrying about myself...........sometimes you never know where you got it and you could have it and not even know that you passed it on to him...........his could be active and yours just not active right now.

Not necessarily.
Virii have incubation periods of varying lengths. Your fiance had the virus before last Friday, it just didn't show up before then in the way of symptoms. Which means, depending on the virus, he may or may not have been able to transmit it before Friday.
Which means you may or may not already have it. If its incubating in your right now, there's no way to tell until it produces symptoms.

What sort of viral infection is it? I hope its not the kind i'm thinking of.
