You shouldnt wear any shoes that impede your ability to feel / use the pedals safely and quickly in the event of an emergency.
In addition should you be in an accident it is possible that the shoes would get wedged under the pedals causing injury / trapping.
If I were you I would have a pair of safe driving shoes in the car so you can change into your nice shoes at your destination.

Basically any shoes with thick or hard soles will hinder your ability to control the pedals accurately. Also heavy shoes will hinder your ability to move your feet really quickly in an emergency.
Notice the shoes that racing drivers wear - they are little more than tightly-fitting slippers with grippy soles, to give them maximum control and pedal feel, with minimal weight for fast reactions.
If you drive like an old granny, or like a welly-wearing farmer in a tractor, you probably don't actually drive well enough to notice the difference between driving in platforms and driving in normal shoes. If you drive like a normal person, then you should really have more control of the pedals than platforms will allow. If you drive quickly, then you need something much lighter.
No one who is proud of their driving would consider driving in platforms.

I think you know the shoes you feel comfortable to drive in and those are the safest!
I've nearly crashed wearing flip flops before as one got stuck under the accelerator pedal when i needed to break so now I only wear the shoes I feel most comfortable in.
Also remember it's against the law to have bare feet when driving.

platform shoes are easy to wear, so it is better to take them off and before you get out of the car, just put them back on and you can even gain the experience of feeling how you are driving when you are using you feet on the pedal than when you are wearing something and they are bad for driving cos of the heels basically

Flat shoes are the best. Anything that could hinder access to the pedals is best avoided.

It can be quite dangerous, I personally don't feel safe driving in heels as I find it's easier for your foot to slip of the pedals!

I can drive safely in any type of footwear. If you are a safe driver and are confident with your abilities there is no reason why the type of footwear you chose should hinder any manoeuvre.

depends on the driver and on the car.
Some of the smaller cars actually have the pedals so close together that you can't push just one pedal when you're shoes are too wide
If you drive a huge SUV i don't see any problem
