Indeed we are "all" exhorted to "watch" (Mk 13:37), obviously to avoid getting deceived by "many shall come" to "deceive. But the tower JW's watch from seems to be only "high"; when being "in Christ" (in him there is no sin, hence in him there is no law: sin & death) is a "higher" thing (higher than the heavens on high).
Worse yet (perhaps a latter end worse described in Mt 12:45), are JW's on the left side of dividead left/right heavens on high, promoting "Jehovah" as "God", notably a God who is aweful lawful rather than grace us, merciless rather than merciful, divsional rather than peaceful?
Perhaps JW's should 'watch' the movie Rennaisance Man, especially the 'high tower' scene, where Danny Divido is told don't look down, and via such "evil concupiscence" he looks down, then scolds whoever said it. Perhaps JW's should also 'watch' the movie Home Alone, especially the churchy 'pew' scene, where the boy says to the grandpa: "aren't you a little old to be afraid"?

Jehovah's Witnesses do not advocate debating with apostate former Witnesses. Such ones already know the truth from the Scriptures and have made an informed choice to align themselves with Satan.
(Titus 3:10) As for a man that promotes a sect, reject him after a first and a second admonition
(Romans 16:17) Now I exhort you, brothers, to keep your eye on those who cause divisions and occasions for stumbling contrary to the teaching that you have learned, and avoid them.
(2 Thessalonians 3:6) Now we are giving you orders, brothers, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, to withdraw from every brother walking disorderly and not according to the tradition you received from us.
(2 Thessalonians 3:14) But if anyone is not obedient to our word through this letter, keep this one marked, stop associating with him, that he may become ashamed.
(2 John 10) If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, never receive him into your homes or say a greeting to him.
However, current Jehovah's Witnesses sometimes mislabel as "apostate" an individual who has never been a Witness and who has never had an accurate knowledge of the bible. It is true that anyone who fights against God's servants has also aligned himself with Satan, but if that alignment has been UNWITTING then there is reason to hope that bible education can help him to break free from Satanic influence. For example, the Apostle Paul was once a fierce persecutor of the early Christians, but he was able to change by means of the accurate teachings about Christ Jesus:
(2 Corinthians 4:4-6) The god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through. For we are preaching, not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves for Jesus' sake. For God is he who said: "Let the light shine out of darkness," and he has shone on our hearts to illuminate them with the glorious knowledge of God by the face of Christ.
Of course, there is no reason for a teaching opportunity to become a pointless debate or argument with regard to non-Witness worldlings. Jehovah's Witnesses ILLUMINATE the differences between Satan's lies and the truths of Christ Jesus and Jehovah God:
(Philippians 2:14-15) Keep doing all things free from murmurings and arguments, that you may come to be blameless and innocent, children of God without a blemish in among a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you are shining as illuminators in the world
(1 Timothy 6:3-5) If any man teaches other doctrine and does not assent to healthful words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, nor to the teaching that accords with godly devotion, he is puffed up with pride, not understanding anything, but being mentally diseased over questionings and debates about words. From these things spring envy, strife, abusive speeches, wicked suspicions, violent disputes about trifles on the part of men corrupted in mind and despoiled of the truth

I don't know why anyone would argue from a doctrine of "no law" except if you have absorbed too much Calvinism.
The Lord Jesus Christ reiterated the ten commandments in the gospels and the apostle Paul also reiterates the ten commandments.
The fact of the matter is that JW and LDS diminish Jesus Christ the Lord in their doctrines to the point of believing in another God and this is the sin against the first commandment.
The word "cult" is still too broadly applied these days and includes churches that believe that Jesus Christ is fully God after He was glorified and returned to the Father. However, this is what the book of Revelation states, the Jesus Christ has all power on heaven and earth, has the keys to hell and death, is the Lord of lords and King of kings and is in the midst or right at the center of the seven churches.

I can answer this question only by pulling on another great file, Napoleon Dynamite. "I can't understand a single word you're sayin."
As a Witness I'd love to answer your question but your first two paragraphs don't make much sense. I'm not saying from a religious point of view. I honestly mean that I cannot find a coherent thought in what you wrote. Really, I am not trying to insult you. Maybe if you re-word the question you're asking, answers might be more forthcoming.

The JW's are founded on the beliefs of Russell, who was 18 years old at the time. They tried to convert me, but my brain is too strong for any mind bending cult. They follow without question, they believe in shunning family members that don't believe as they do, even if it's their fathers and mothers. The 10 commandments say to honor your father and mother, but I guess they think that means only if they are JW. They discommunicate with anyone who do not believe in their beliefs. They also believe that there are other gods in heaven. They think Jesus was just a prophet, and not the Word of God, made flesh. I guess He's just one of those other gods or idols they speak of. Any talk of other gods or idols, would indicate satanism or the occult, just as the ancient Egyptians believed in. That would mean that they don't believe that Jesus rose in 3 days either, as he was just a prophet, or actually Michael, the archangel? Their entire worldview is confusing.
They don't even think their bible is made up.
But they do think that they are God's chosen people. How can they claim to be God's chosen, when they don't even believe God's Word? They don't believe God impregnated anyone, that He didn't have a Son. God's Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, but they think that's crazy. We know God can do anything, but God's chosen thinks He can't?
