No. They are just Misguide. The Bible does Say "That A fool say in his heart that there is no God". I was once a fool and had faith that there was no god. But then the LORD used HIS 2x4 on me and show me that I was wrong. We need to love those who are atheist and talk to them about the LORD and then let the LORD use the 2x4

Profound questions provoke interesting responses.
Why do some assume the question was posed by a Christian?
Why do some assume that if you believe in God, you have to believe and belong to one religion?
Why do others feel insulted and feel the need to hurl insults back?
When the answer might just be somewhere buried within the question itself. Are we all not in someway mentally retarded, seeking to understand something we have no hope of ever full grasping, and even after realizing we can never hope to understand we continue to try. By most definitions of mentally retarded, we all are.

No, we are not all mentally retarded. In fact, we are just regular human beings, just as you are, some gifted, some less gifted.
Sadly, according to a recent study, we are the most distrusted minority in America. I find this sad, because most of us are good people with very high morals. How many atheists have you met in person? To make a judgment like you did is one of the things that divides our nation. We are all in this life together. Why not make it a pleasant one? Do you feel particularly threatened by atheists? Is that why you have to stereotype us? Or are you just trying to get attention?

Atheists are not mentally retarded. Generalizing a group of people IS though.
We shouldn't dismiss other people's beliefs in such a negative way. Each person is entitled to what they want to believe without being called retarded.
Too bad you didn't think through your question before you wasted your 5 points. Rather than being dismissive you should of asked for some insight and empower yourself with knowledge on a topic you know little about. Ignorance breeds fear.

In aspects of spirituality yes indeed, in that to be an aetheist you must first acknowledge God to say say he doesnt exist. Which in and of its self is quite challenged. And for all of those who answered with arrogant ignorance, being aethiests, blurting such absurdaties like " Some fairy Guy in the Sky who hasnt been seen or heard in 2500 years" here is this: Jesus was crucified in 0, A.D. or B.C. ( which by the way stands for Anti Dominion or After His Death, and Before Christ, Duh) which would actually put your time line 496 years over; and that means you are looking right past all the proof of existance called JESUS. If you close your eyes does everything disapear? Or if you plug your ears does that mean there is no sound? LOL, And as for proof, open your eyes and think clearly, air cant be seen but we all trust it is there, same as space. You were not there to witness Colonial Men Dieing for your freedom, yet you never question the truth from your history book telling you that it was so. Just because you cant see X Rays, or pure Sinide doesnt mean the stuff isnt there and wont kill you with very limited exposure. God, by the way is above sexuality and being omnipitant doesnt require you be either or both genders, Angles are of both sex. God is Above that. We are of one sex. Simply put anyone who believes agnostically is simply lying to themselves and turning away from God, having some pitiful excuse as to why, " I didnt get a bike for Christmas-God doesnt exist" Boo Whoo. Try this one one if you are seriously considering the existance of God- If God exists so does the DEVIL ( and the devils greats trick has been convincing the world that he doesnt exist ) NO ONE is worthy to be in the carnate presence of GOD, but we are all very capable of meeting Satan. Pray to God and ask him to meet you half way with the burden of proof. Ask him to see the devil, and believe when you pray. But take my warning, dont do this to get closer to the devil, it wont happen, this is just to prove the existance of what is REAL in the true big picture. And yes it is quit offensive to call anyone retarded, such a slurr is unessary, I prefer piss ignorant myself. And if you dont like what I have to say too bad. Free speech is something we all can enjoy thanks to our founding fathers, even if you dont believe that they existed. NEODIFF

It absolutely amazes me that so many people today have been infected with some sort of insidious mental virus that leads them to the insane certainty that the myths, superstitions, fairy tales and fantastical delusions of an ignorant bunch of Bronze Age fishermen and wandering goat herders represent some kind of cosmic 'TRUTH' about fundamental matters of existence and reality. A universe in which all that exists are the earth and heaven, solid 'firmament' structure (the sky) separating the earth from heaven (terrarium earth), talking snakes (with legs) and donkeys, shepherd staff turning into an asp, demons chased out of people and into pigs, friendly spirits, evil spirits, walking on water, multiplying loaves and fishes, food falling from the sky, conception by a ghost, people raising from the dead, the sun stopping in its tracks, parting seas, people being bodily sucked up into heaven (which, by the way, lies on the 'other side' of the sky), world-wide flood that drowned the earth to a depth of 40 feet above the tallest mountain, creating people from dust bunnies and ribs, magical tree of knowledge, god speaking from a burning bush, ritual cannibalism, by eating god in the form of a cracker. In a sane world, if there was somebody running around spouting this crap, he would be locked up in the State Farm for the Funny. Apparently, though, mass insanity seems to convey some sort of free pass.
And you dare to suggest that people who DON'T believe all of that ludicrous crap are mentally retarded? Get a grip.

the answer to your question is yes, i see that you have a lot of stupid answers from other people on here, but let me tell you the truth, ( i am a christian by the way ) first of all you never said that you were a christian, but i hope you are, now all these atheists and homosexuals and all those people who are against Jesus Christ all want you to accept who they are and what they do, but they will not accept you for being a christian , have you ever noticed that?, its not up to you to judge others, although i know its hard not to say something sometimes, but i do agree with you

No we are not!!
I don't believe in some high and mighty watching over us, and I don't want to. I think the whole idea is retarded. I also think the bible is full of contradictions. I think that religion needs to change with the times.
I personally think that all religious people are brain washed but I don't go around labeling them now do I?
