I am not in deep depression all though I have slipped into it at one point....it was horrible....but I have the kind of depression that isn't obvious to yourself because it is just episodes of sadness on a different level. I am seriously lacking motivation in my life in daily task of life not to even mention that I need to go on a diet. Antidpressants make me sleepy and intervere with my sex life which is one of the few things I enjoy....Is there any advice you can give me to pull myself out of this?

Walk! If i start feeling low i walk 4 miles. Even if its just round the park or down the canal. Its surprising how good it is 4 u, not just the physical things but i think it helps u think straight. I was on pills for years now i dont think i need them. I have the "off days" but don't we all. If all else fails, c ur doc about a mild antidepressant

Hi, Go see your doc. There are lots of options for antidepressants that DON'T have those side effect. Sometimes it's a matter of finding the right thing for you or a combination.

Don't give up on them. Really, call you Doc. True depression is not something you can just snap out of.

maybe you suffer from dysthymia/dysthymic disorder. it's a chronic (ongoing) low-grade depression. it sucks. apparently i've had this my whole life but am currenlty diagnosied with major depression, severe, with a rule-out of PTSD. i would recommend you going to some therapy or maybe simply talking to your primary care physician about medication. maybe in the past you haven't been prescribed the right antidepressant. best of luck.
