Do you ever just want to SCREAM because no matter we do in the war and how many good things we have accomplished - the liberals take the side of the terroists?

CR makes a good point - we do not ALWAYS do the right thing. Everyone makes mistakes. Hopefully we learn from them - no one is perfect. BUT - we DO more good than bad in this world. Let's celebrate what we get right a little more!!!

I'm in the military and i see the news and read a lot of articles on-line. It does frustrates me to see a lot of liberals that hate bush twist the facts in order to make the president look bad and our country. I do admit that we do make bad decisions every once in a while, and we do more great things than bad. But thanks to liberals a lot of those stories never come out in the news just all the far lesser mistakes that we occasionally do as humans. One news media that is guilty of that is the NYT.

The world is not black and white. You can criticise without being for the other side. For instance - if you disagreed with the complete and utter destruction of Dresden in the second world war, at the cost of thousands of civilian lives - Dresden, a beautiful city which had very little military activity (and therefore meaning nothing was gained by bombing it) it doesn't mean you supported the Nazis. It just means that you thought that perhaps the allies should never have sunk so low as to indiscriminately kill civilians for absolutely no gain other than a little psychological warfare.

I would never take the side of the terrorists - though Iraq wasn't a terrorist before America invaded, but that's neither here nor there. Killing innocent people is wrong, whether they're black or white, Muslim or agnostic/atheist/Christian. That is simply the end of the matter. If Iraq wants democracy they can have it, but you cannot force it on them. It just won't work. You'll just make them hate you, because they'll just see all the death and destruction that is cause and think "it wasn't like this before the americans invaded, so it must be their fault." Whatever your good intentions are they are lost. America should just cut its losses and leave. What is the point of defending 2 square miles of Green Zone, because the rest of the country is just simply ungovernable, ESPECIALLY while the troops are there - and all that is happening is that the troops are getting killed every day.

I feel sorry for you. It must be tough for cons to try to think.

Have liberals taken facts and stretched them? Yeah. I'll admit that there are some that will do that. I've always tried not to.

Have you done good things in this supposed War on Terror? Yes.

Have we done terrible things on this supposed War on Terror?
Yes.

My b---- about this though is that this Administration has hosed it up. They've played right into the hands of terrorists. They change goals in midstream. They don't finish what they start. They choose to rule by fear. This is an entirely new kind of warfare which has to be fought accordingly. Yet, they still prefer the old style. Bombs and bullets are good and all, but it will take way more for that win this. And this administration refuses to see that.

All I see and hear is how many are killed in the war. All the story's on the news are not very promising and you republicans control the news so whats your point? Its the neo con thinking that is bring this country to its knees. If you don't like them invade. Its so funny that Bush claims to be a Christian a faith that claims to turn the other check but this guy will jump at the chance to invade and kill innocent people. So much for faith. This country sucks.
Theres a big differance between kneeling down and bending over. And Bush has us bent over and is pushing hard.

If you are so supportive of the war why didn't you join the military? Then give us a more knowledgable perspective.
tell us of all of the great things this war has accomplished because apparently your youthful wisdom, experience, insights and knowledge of worldly affairs is far greater than that of us old fogeys who have socks older than you!

OK here are some of the things Republicans claim Democrats distort, Everything here is public record but feel free to challenge them point by point. put up or shut up!

Bush's War

SAUDI HIJACKERS attacked America
George Bush being a coward and friends with the Saudi's attacks a beaten and broken Iraq under the lie there are WMD's (Why doesn't he invade North Korea they have nukes the willingness and ability to use them, Attack Iran!)

When no WMD's were found he quietly has his administration admit it then uses the lie that Iraq sponsored Al Quaeda

When no Al Quaeda are found he uses the lie he is spreading democracy, However Iraqi's don't want homosexual marriges, drug addicted uneducated children,
uncontrolled crime and American corporations plundering their countries resources. While theirs is not a perfect society it has been around longer than ours and works for them.

That under pressure from the world to withdraw troops Bush now claims Iraq would fall into a civil war, Except the problem is Iraq IS IN A CIVIL WAR!

people are being raped and killed in other parts of the world but since they have no oil we are not interested.

I'll be back!!!

I am neither liberal nor conservative. I form my opinions based on what feels right to me in every situation. It upsets me when people (liberal or conservative) distort the truth of any situation. It is not just the extreme liberals who do it...sorry to tell you that the extreme conservatives are just as guilty...I think the world would be a better place if only there were more moderates and independents who make decisions based on their conscience rather than their competitiveness with the other political party...

Distortions are not only a tool of the liberals, the conservatives aren't shy about twisting the truth till it snaps. Personally, I believe nothing that I have not experienced first-hand. It's a little thing Tricky Dick taught us while we were chasing Charlie all over Hell & back while the goverment was telling the world that we were participating in a process of "Winning hearts & minds". I guess 59,000 of my Brothers weren't effective at winning hearts & minds, huh?

You know, I don't think most the liberals are pro-anything. They're just anti-Bush. They're the party of not-Bush. There doesn't seem to be a single original thought rattling around in any of their heads. If Bush said the sky was blue, they'd send Al Gore in to declare that either it's not blue, or it's only blue because in 6 years of the Bush administration we've caused enough global warming to make the sky that way and it never would have happened if he had managed to weasel Florida in 2000.

Honestly, the distortion hurts the most when you're serving overseas and all you can see in the news is this crap about how we're failing in Iraq and it's a quagmire, and we need to cut and run. They seize upon the smallest opening to basically exploit bad news for their agenda. On one day, we could announce that we'd completed building a hundred schools in Iraq, but one drunk hajji getting himself and his family blasted when he tries to run a checkpoint (trust me, it happens) that's been bombed repeatedly will be the only news that makes the headlines.

Taking sides? You sound like a 3 year old...

...The world is not black and white. Unfortunately, our President sees it as such rather than the shades of gray that it truly is.

Good things we have accomplished? If you're talking about the war on terrorism, this government operates in such secrecy that they cannot be held accountable. So we're just told to believe them and trust them. One day you'll see where that attitude gets you.

If you're talking about the war in Iraq, I'd hardly call civil war, approximately 100 daily civilian deaths, more unemployment than employment, people living in sects rather than mixed neighborhoods a good thing. Not to mention the approximately 2500 US troop deaths (and countless more crippled, mentally ill, etc). Yep...the news is so good, but the reporters just can't get out to report it without being kidnapped, murdered or maimed. Sounds peachy to me.

Infuriated is a more apt description of my feelings concerning them. I shudder to think what would have happened if they had been around in the Second World War. We might very well have either lost it or stopped way before we had won a complete victory. Imagine what they would have said after Tarawa, or Iwo Jima or at the beginning of the Battle of the Bulge. Imagine their outcry after Kasserine Pass.

They utterly fail to realize that we can not be defeated by military arms, the only way we can lose is to lose the political & national will to see a conflict through to the very end. They even fail to realize that by their actions of constantly trying to kick away the nations support for a conflict that they hamstring our leaders from being able to do all that is necessary for victory. They sow the seeds of defeat and then cry loud and long about the correctness of their actions when our country fails, when it was they all along who brought the country down in defeat.

Actually, I'm kind of cynical about it all. Most people have already made up their minds and aren't listening to facts anymore. I just want to find a truly objective individual.

I'm trying to be objective. I know what I believe. I accept when I'm wrong. Most people won't do theses things. Don't pay attention to those who won't listen, talk to the ones who will.
