I bought some new trainers the other day and when I opened the box, someone in the factory had left their stash of drugs in there. He's written 'silica gel' on the packet. I crushed it up and snorted it and got more trolleyed than i've ever been. Have you ever heard of it?

Oh don't be silly. Silica Gel is used to keep moisture out of things. Don't snort it or you'll die. As simple as that.

Silica gel and silica beads are usually in little sachets, found in the bottom of Electronic boxes, like monitors, binoculars and other items like that.
The stuff is excellent at absorbing water, especially in the atmosphere. So for these appliations, it keeps the boxes dry and stops moisture.
If you eat the stuff, it can contain chemicals and can be poisonous to your system.

Silica Gel is just a dessicant - it dries / keeps things dry.
it's NOT poisonous, it's non-reactive, chemically inert and you could scoop back packets of the stuff.
HOWEVER, if it's been 'doped' to change colour when wet BAD NEWS!! Especially if the white to blue sort as the cobalt chloride is carcinogenic.

If you keep snorting the silica, your lungs will become a basilica. Bad pun excluded, you are putting a bad substance into your body. There is a lung disease called silicosis-I'd read up on it before you snort anything else

silica gel is to absorb moisture you find it in shoes handbags etc. I hope you are only joking that you snorted it as it is highly poisonous.

I tried snorting it, and I found it left my nasal passage really try, like it had sucked up all the moisture.

Its to absord the moisture you nit , not to get you high... it likewise should dry up your nose and be toxic.
Solvents and things like that are the most dangerous
