I havent done much exercise since I used to play football about a year ago, so Im out of shape, but as I was running I got this pain above my left eye that was so bad I could hardly open it never mind run anymore, is it just dehydration????
I hadnt actually ran that far so it wasnt as if I had lost a lot of fluid.

Not just dehydration, but you are also probably pushing yourself too hard too soon. Start out a little slower next time, don't overdo it!

It could have been any one of numerous things. It could have been a blood pressure spike, that sometimes occurs when your body isn't accustomed to a quick burst of high level exercise.

Plane your workouts down a little, and then work up gradually. Try may be light jogs of a mile or so 3-4 times week, then build up as you increase your capacity.

Also work on some total body conditioning as well. Put together a basic total body circuit with some light dumbells. Also, stay hydrated. Thats the most important thing during the summer months.

The majority of people especially children/young people are dehydrated anyway without including a form of exercise. You need to consume a lot of water during the day excluding coffee and tea as caffeine dehydrates you even more

Sounds like dehydration to me...its not about having a drink just before you partake in exercise its about keeping hydrated throughout the day, each day.

Not enough fluids or not breathing right on the run

did you eat anything before you went on your run? If you didn't your glucose levels maybe lower. If I haven't had anything with sugar in it, I get headaches.

i think possibly lack of oxygen? lungs may need to be stretched again and lack of oxygen causes headaches, so maybe with your breathing quickening with running, its altered your oxygen intake
