Use your broiler over and add a little liquid smoke which you can pick up in any large grocery store chain. Not nearly as good as a grill but as close as you'll be able to come. Good Luck!

Flank steak recipee:
4 lbs (2 large) flank steaks
Quick and easy marinade
1 bottle Kraft catalina dressing
aprox 1/3 bottle whorstichire sause
dash of garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste
score both sides of flank steakes with sharp knife in diagonal criss XXX cross patern carefull not to cut too deep about 1 inch apart. then cut each of the flank steakes into aprox 4 same size pieces, then put into zip lock bag with marinade ingredients
( should be a dark brown collor ), and marinade about 4 hours or overnite would be prefered. then cook on broiler pan under the broiler about 10 minutes total cooking time, turning over halfway thru cooking time the marinade will just slightly burnt in spots and carmalize. this is the way you want it., also works great on the BBQ grill especially with a little mesquite smoke.

LONDON BROIL
Servings: 8 (5 1/2 oz. each)
4 lbs (2 large) flank steaks
FOR THE MARINADE (makes about 5 1/2 cups):
16 oz (2 cups) salad oil
8 oz (1 cup) soy sauce
8 oz (1 cup) Worcestershire sauce
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp dry mustard
MARINADE INSTRUCTIONS:
Combine all ingredients for marinade; blend together well. Place flank steak into marinade. Use small enough container to allow flank steak to be completely covered by marinade. Marinade 24 hours minimum and not more than 4 days or flavor of the meat will be overpowered by marinade
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat grill to 360 degrees F for 1/2 hour.
Drain marinade from meat. Reserve marinade up to two weeks if needed.
Grill flank steak to medium rare. This will take approximately 10 minutes cooking time total. Hold cooked flank steak in warmer if necessary.
Transfer the steak to a cutting board and let rest for 5 minutes.
Slice cooked flank steak at 30 degree angle 1/8-inch thick slices: This is essential to keep flank steak tender.
Cook on a grilling pan, with a drop or two of liquid smoke.

use an iron grill pan...one with the raised ridges on one side & pancake flat on the other. Put it in the oven & get it HOT.
Put your steak on it when it is hot, & close oven. after a few minutes (you have to experiment here, with how done you like it) turn it, & cook other side.
If you have a broiler underneath on in your oven, just use that & the grill pan...look at your dial to see if you have a broiler.
Remember to open windows & use the exhaust fan!!

this is a great question. i had gotten to the point to where i did not want to eat steak again because i had eaten some many broiled that were tough. then, we used a grill and the steaks were perfect. however, last week we had to broil and i asked my gf to take it out earlier, that maybe in the broiler it needed to be more pink than on the grill.....they were good.....so maybe you could try that

it extremely is cooked interior the oven yet you may braise it. First, coat it with salt and pepper, then brown it on all factors in a pot on the range perfect. After it extremely is browned, upload some vegetables like potatoes, carrots, celery, etc. then upload a pair cups of fowl inventory and a pair cups of wine. the beef could be thoroughly coated with liquid. Then conceal the pot and bake it interior the oven at 350 stages for 3-4 hours. The longer the greater helpful. The acid interior the wine will make the beef fairly comfortable.

First off, contrary to popular belief, marinating a steak is a waste of time. If it is available, get some "Montreal Steak Seasoning. Season the steaks real well. Set your oven to broil. I like my steaks Med. Rare. so i cook them about 7-9 mins. each side. But about one minute before you flip them, brush it down with margerine. Then about 1 minute before you remove from oven, brush that side with margerine. The margerine helps keep the steak tender.

Season them well, use a broiling pan and set your oven to broil. Put your rack close to the top without letting the steaks touch the top. Pay close attention adn flip frequently. Mmmm...

Yes, use the broiler.
However, it will not taste like the grill. I wonder if one of those George Foreman grills would work?

You could try using a grill pan.
Or you could invest in a cheap small bbq grill that you can use outside in the patio or something.
Fresh grilled goodness is not something you can really emulate.

Use your broiler, and buy McCormick Montreal Steak seasoning.
I'm not crazy about steaks, but the taste of these is so good!
