1)help with details of the wedding planning,such as addressing envelopes making favors and going shopping excursions.
2)pay for you're wedding attire
3)help organize the bridesmaids with their fettings
4)keep all bridesmaids informed of all parties,functions and rehearsals
5)attend the rehearsal dinner
6)oversee the bridesmaidson ther wedding day by coordinating gowns,makeup,jewelry,and flowers.

The maid of honor has an extensive list of duties. It all includes staying in daily/weekly contact with the bride. You are responsible for helping the bride plan the wedding and even helping her out whenever she needs it. You are supposed to make sure the bride doesn't get too stressed out and offer your help frequently. You are also the host of the bridal shower, lingerie shower, and bachelorette party. You are also her shoulder to lean on, you listen when she is stressed out and no one else wants to listen. On the day of the wedding, you keep the bride calm and happy, and make sure everything is going smoothly.

i was just maid of honor for a friend.
IT SUCKS! and it costs so much damn money.
you have to throw her a bachelorette party...and a bridal shower...and pay for it. which is ridiculous. its not ur wedding its hers. her mother tried to get me to buy a lunch for their family, who i hadnt even met yet, and spend $1,000 on them. ridiculous. in addition u have to get her a present to the bridal shower as if u werent spending enough. then you have to buy the dress the shoes get your hair done and makeup, which is another couple hundred. and after all that u have to get her a wedding gift.
get out of it if you can. on the wedding day all she will do is boss you around and make you carry things for her. im telling you its such a hassle

TO HELP THE BRIDE PLAN THE WEDDING, HELP HER DO HER HAIR, NAILS, MAYBE GIVE HER A MASSAGE JUST INCASE SHE FEELS A LITTLE TENSE ABOUT THE WEDDING, AND MAKE HER FEEL GOOD ABOUT THE DECISION SHE IS MAKING.
