I am not sure I would say akward. I would much rather have my privacy. I definately feel an invasion. I always like it when the job is finished.

It's awkward yes, but they've work to do- however they shouldn't be walking around the house where they aren't working! That is awkward, for sure. Occasionally,I've got jobs where I'm at the customers home on a daily basis for a period of time-I always let them know when I'm coming so they're not caught off guard, and unless their day starts at ten in the morning ,I try to work around their time frame to be unobtrusive as possible, and not get too much into their daily routine-sometimes I have to tell them I need to be there early so I can get my job done( in other words, I have to run them outta bed).
Most often it's not a problem because they just want the work to be done.

Depends on why they are in there for, did u put in some complaint and need to fix it? How many days after u have moved in are they still coming in to do touch ups? If it has only been like 1 to 2 weeks then it is still possible they still have to do some little work. But I think if u feel awkward then u let them know how about doing it. Ask them to give u heads up before they enter ur house and they will be advise not to just barge into ur home.Long as u let them know they will advise their workers to be careful, and make sure they make appointments.

Do you ever have my sympathy....I started to remodel an old farmhouse 14 months ago.........this year on May 14, I just told them, "I am moving in.....you better get through"...as I realized that they were going to drag this out as long as possible. Guess what...Today is August 21 and they are finishing on Wednesday. Somedays I just try to stay gone and when I run out of energy, I come home to my office, get in the easy chair, close the door and dare them to even bother me.............

yes I had them in for 24 weeks when I was told it was gonna be 8-10 max. They treated the place like they owned it just coming and going as the pleased, letting themselves in and out of the house. Several times they let themselves in before I'd even gotten dressed!! I felt like the naughty girlfriend or something in my own home!!!

GRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

Still it's all over now.

Yes but it's important that you find someone you trust. I'm lucky to live in a small community and know all the contracts. I just choose them and leave. Good lUck w/ your project.

Yes. You can't make a cup of tea without making them one. They always seem to chip the cups too.

Of course, anyone would feel that way with strangers in their home.
But you hired them....if they are invading your privacy, just let them know. Most workers will comply....and believe it or not....they feel strange too!
