Call the vet - or better yet - take the dog to another vet. It could just be kennel cough, which will take care of it's self in about 10 days, but even so, the dog could be given anitbiotics and a cough suppressant. If it is allergies and asthma, they have medicines that will help with those also.

fluid in chest, and a cough might be the signs of a heart problem
take the animal to another vet, that vet will get the first to fax over all details.. so i wouldnt tell the 2nd that youve seen the first. just give them the dog, and tell them its been coughing.. lethargic etc, and see what they say, make sure they check its heart

Sweetheart, I would try another vet; it sounds like your cat has an upper respiratory tract infection, and may be in need of antibiotics to clear this. A month before being seen again?????Hmmmm- a month is a very long time for him to be left untreated if there is an infection.....I should ask another vet, really.

As your pets condition seems to have worsened since the vet saw him, I think you should at least phone and inform them of the change in his condition. They have no reason not to take a look at him. It may be that the initial symptoms matched one diagnosis, but the new symptoms might give more clues as to what is wrong.

Obviously you're concerned, go back to the vet for your own peace of mind and for the pets health.
The vet may need to aspirate with a nasal tube or with a lung tap.

How old is the animal? This could be the heart working incorrectly. My cat has a cough like that - she's 15.

Hello, my name is Virginia. I studied Veterinary end I have not finished yet. But I think your Vet is correct, but if you want to be more sure why don´t you ask another vet. You 'll be more sure.
