Fresh tomatoes should be kept in a brown paper bag at room temperature especially if they still have to ripen some more to develop their full and great ripe tomato flavor. Putting them in the fridge kills the ripening process and the flavor loss is quite noticeable.

NO! my roommate does this all the time. when you put your tomatoes in the fridge they loose over half of their flavor. that's why alot of the time when you go to a restaurant the tomatoes are really bland. just keep them somewhere cool and dry to get the most flavor out of them, of course if you want them to last longer and are not so concerned with the loss of flavor than you can store them in the fridge.

I say yes, with all the stuff they but in fruits and veggies I would keep them in the frig but that's just me. Try this buy some tomatoes put some in the frig and some in a cool or warm place in the kitchen and see what happens if they go bad in the frig or outside the frig then you will know where to put them.

When they go below 50 degrees F they loose a flavor to them that will never come back. But they will last longer and will not loose any of the vitamins in them.

Better at room temperature for sure. If you are concerneed about fruit flys though, I personally can't stand the little buggers, put them in a paper bag on your sill or counter.

No.Tomatoes should be stored at room temperature for best flavor. Sit them stem side up on your counter, or other convenient spot. I sit mine on top of the refrigerator.
