It could be stress I had that happen to me. I got rid of the stress(my job) and my hair has come back. Stress does crazy stuff to us so you may be more stressed than you think. Your hair also does fall out in cycles so it could be that its just time for it to shed more, is it longer than normal? sometimes it just seems like alot but it's just longer. It is normal to loose 70 to 100 hairs a day give or take a few.

Some hair loss is normal. Do you have any bald spots? Have someone help you check you head and see if there are any circle patches of baldness. (There may be spots under the top layer of your hair.)
If there are it may be whats called alpesia. If it is then you have a 50/50 chance of it growing back only if you go to your doctor. It is believed to be heredity and also it happens when the immune system is breaking down.
Have you been really tired lately or not feeling well lately?
I had this twice. the first time I caught a cold and was tired for for a couple of months. I was also stressing out. I went to the doctor they checked for some type of worm on the scalp. They found nothing. I had the alpesia. They gave me a cream to put on. It didn't help. The next step was little injections in the scalp. It stimulated the hair growth. My hair came back.
The second time I had it, it came back on it's own. I ate better and took vit.
Go to your doctor and see what they think.

Could be hormonal. Birth control pills usually cause some hair loss. I've used BC pills for several years. I definitely noticed an increase in daily hair loss after I started using them.
I was concerned about losing too much hair, but my hairstylist told me not to worry. She said generally people with very healthy hair will lose more hair than people with not so healthy hair. The hair just continues to fall out and regrow. So far I don't have any bald spots and I haven't had to buy a wig.

Stress and or Hormones have made my hair fall out before, also I have noticed in the Fall I tend to 'shed' a little more. If you have just had a baby, or were pregnant recently, your hair loss can be attributed to that. Which makes me question were you on the pill recently and stopped taking it??? I lost a great deal of hair after the birth of each of my three kids. If it continues to be a problem for you, I think Rogaine makes a product for women that is effective in stopping hair loss.
Good luck to you

I moved to Denmark from Australia and noticed -along with the other exchange students- that my hair started falling out something shocking!
This was caused by higher levels of calcium in the water in Denmark...so if you have changed your shampoo, that can be it, but it is also possible that your water supply has been contaminated somehow. If you have been stressing, that can also cause your hair to fall out, or a poor diet or poor amounts of sleep.

losing approx 100 hairs a day is quite common, losing hair is more often than not hormonal,( ie are u pregnant or rcently had a bub?) check your head for any bald spots, if none, more than likely no problem but if ur really concerned go see the doc, gd luck.

Usually when you begin to lose a lot of your hair, it's either heriditary, stress, or you may just need a trim. I would ask your hair-dresser about it.
