Well, it certainly can cause some changes in the brain. But most any kind of experience will have an effect on the brain. In the case of LSD I think it is less of an issue of the chemical damagin th e brain as it is the psychological impact of having gone through a completely alien experience. People that seem to be damaged by LSD usually have had bad trips-- extreme psychological trauma. These symptoms sometimes seem similar to post traumatic stress disorder. Anytime you have a severly bad experience, it can cause damage in such a way that you are unable to think. I would consider LSD to be dangerous only to the extent that it can provide an extreme experince-- this exerince can be positive or negative depending on the circumstances suurounding the user during their trip.

not from what i have read, oddly enough,,it has more to do with the persons perception of what is happening around them,,,there can be after effects but these also do not seem to last unless the person develops a psychological dependancy on them, there is talk of organic brain damage,,loss of memory and the like and threat of death if the person sees things that are not there and sees a retreat into a dangerous situation as unaviodable.chack out this site
