first of all must have all the manuals and guides about all the equipments that he must maintain.then have to study all of them and know their structure.must know where to buy their parts or how to repair them.must check all of them regularly to make sure they have no problems.small problems by passing time will change into vital problems.

A good Maintenance engineer possesses thorough knowledge on the equipments he has to deal with to carry out a proper preventive maintenance, scheduled at the right intervals and to get the best out of the equipment. He should possess adequate knowledge on the equipments life cycle for planning the replacement. The maximum efficiency of the equipment should be obtained at the minimum cost.

Needs to be a good problem solver. And don't get easily stymied when frustrated. Learn to come at breakdowns from different angles when you first approach doesn't work.

Also, since a lot of equipment can be "fixed" by merely shutting down and re-starting, don't specifically tell the people who summoned you because the _____wasn't working right how you fixed it. Just that you've taken care of the problem. They'll think you're a genius.

I think this is no joke .......maintenance Engineer needs many qualities ..in brief he needs to be informative, methodical and analytical. patience is a good quality in him. You need to search specific to be expert on this topic.
