Do you mean that it NEVER works? Sometimes Windows XP screws up and the floppy disk stops working. Turning on the computer, then turning it back on does the trick. (not just RESTART, but turn OFF), It's like Microsoft just does not want you to use floppies any more.

I recommend that you change your thinking on floppy diskettes. Get a thumb drive, and you will return to total happiness.
