Stewed potatoes, served with cornbread and onions. It is easy to make, first peel then cut potatoes into small pieces, cover with water. Boil until tender, add thickener ( Paste made of equal parts of flour,cornmeal and milk) let simmer a few minutes. Cornbread and onions optional. Enjoy.

I have a really good recipe for a potato casserole dish.
Ingredients:
1 bag frozen hashbrowns
1 med onion
8 oz bag cheddar
1 can cream of mushroom soup
12 oz sour cream
1 stick of butter
2 small self serving size boxes of cornflakes
Directions: in a cake pan pour in the hashbrowns and make level, cut up the onion and sprinkle all on top of the hashbrowns, in a bowl mix together the soup, sour cream, and cheese. Spread this mixture on top of the onions. In a ziploc crunch up the cornflakes, then sprinkle on top of the mixture to cover completely. Melt the butter in the microwave, then pour on top of the cornflakes. Put in the oven at 375 degrees until golden brown.

I had the most marvelous meal at the boar's head inn in charlottesville (many marvelous meals, actually) but this one was made with a grilled portabello on top and bottom. In between was luscious mashed potatoes. I suggest you boil the peeled potatoes, drain and mash with - USE THIS - cream cheese, milk, minced garlic, salt and pepper. AMAZING!

truthfully scalloped potatoes. also, potato salad is sweet in case you merely use potatoes, mayonaisse, Italian dressing, and diced celery. writer 1st baron verulam and larger vegetables are good additions. There now my key's out.
