The vast majority of illegal immigrants in America are Mexican, who were once proverbial for laziness and crime, but now are championed by the liberal media (NY Times) and neoconservative media (Wall Street Journal) as hard-working Americans.

Statistics, however, show otherwise. A recent study by the Pew Hispanic Center reveals the following:

(1) Hispanics are 3 times more likely than non-Hispanics to receive welfare

(2) Hispanics account for 3/4 of the increase in poverty in the USA

(3) 45% of Hispanic children are born out of wedlock

(4) Hispanic women are 2.54 times more likely to than white women to have abortions

(5) Hispanic men are 9 times more likely than white men to beat their partners

(6) Hispanics are 3 times more likely than whites to die of AIDS

(7) They are 4 times more likely to die of tuberculosis

(8) Hispanics are 2 times more likely to be incarcerated than non-Hispanics

(9) They are 3.8 times more likely to be in prison for murder

Pew Hispanic center...never heard of them.But,okay,if thats what they say.But i'm not sure what states they are evaluating exactly.In North carolina,it seems as if those stats are a bit off.
1)I have been inside the welfare office here in my county.And everytime I've gone,the majority of ppl there are white females.I don't know if they are married to hispanic men or what ,but I assume they (white women) are legal citizens.most hispanics I know aren't even aware of the full benefit of social services.,not to say that some don't receive.But they have to be legally here for that.And,yes,my husband is mexican,but we can't even receive medicaid anymore for our kids cause we make too much money.
2)I can only assume thats b/c they ,unknowingly,work for less money than americans.If you come from a country that is poor,$5 an hour is alot of money to some.And employers know this.
3)Thats not true.They are mostly catholic,by religion,and believe in marriage.Atleast those that come from mexico.Again,the ppl I know are married.And what is the percent of whites and blacks?
4)Abortion is AGAINST their religion.And if there was so many abortions going on,why is the hispanic population so large?That doesn't make sense.

Are you talking about Hispanics vs whites? Hispanics vs the rest of the population? Legal Hispanics vs non legal Hispanics? I've seen some statistics cited on this board on this subject that are 15 years old. When was the study you cite conducted? Without context your figures don't carry a lot of weight. Any source becomes creditable if one wants to believe in the statistics it invokes.The Bush administration is great with statistics that are made up to suit their own agenda.
But I live in AZ one of the border states directly involved in the exodus from Mexico of its people.While I do not support any one coming to the US illegally ,and do not support amnesty for anyone,I do take exception to some of the so called "facts" in your question.First of all who is The Pew Hispanic Center and who paid for their research,that often makes a difference in how accurate and non biased those numbers are.In order for me personally to believe them Id need more information on that organization.

Try substituting the word "poor" for "hispanic" and you'll see the root of the situation.

To suggest otherwise is to make the entirely absurd allegation that any of these (very suspect) "facts" are consequence of melanin levels in the skin.

You will not find me in disagreement on any of your points. I completely agree with what you said, on the same token, it is a problem that needs to be dealt with. Good list but you're not telling me anything I didn't already know. You only forgot to list that Hispanics are more likely to kie about there name tothe IRS even after becoming citizens and they are more likely to lie to get their childremn on free lunch programs than non Hispanics, I have lived in the southern California area since 1968 and have seen it all and have complained about the the destruction of our way of life and the trashing of our cities and schools since the 80's. It is time to put and end to the invasion and rape of our country and economy by people who don't what to assimilate or comtribute to the society here.
