The name actually changed a few years ago. They used to be called Fondant Fancies but then became French Fancies out of the blue. The Mr Kipling variety probably doesn't originate from France but I expect the recipe is inspired by some delicate and pretty French cakes from the many patisseries there!

yes used to work at kiplings they did orginate from there but are not made there anymore
