...do so many people come here from other countries and decide to stay?? I'm not sure of the exact stats, but I think it's a safe bet that all of your European nations combined don't have nearly as many new citizens per year as the USA.

kenhallonthenet,
I said new citizens, not refugees, not illegals. NEW CITIZENS! And they are from all countries, not just 3rd world. The las time I heard an American say they wnted to move to another country was during the election. Bush won and the idiot still hasn't moved. Typical.

The only people who come here are from some Third-World hell-hole. For them, it's a step up. (Not many people from Denmark, etc. want to come here any more.) The USA lets them in, because corporations want cheap, desperate labor. They want people who will work for peanuts, and not demand health care or other benefits. Of course, this drags down the wages and standard of living of the American middle class. Billionaires can then become even richer. The gap between the rich and the working class has never been greater than right now.

The US has it's problems just like any other country but I really feel like the citizens who take their country for granted and constantly complain about how much they hate it here should be forced to GET OUT. Instead of complaining, why don't they work to correct the problems by using our democratic freedoms. I like some of the other contries I've been to except for the 3rd world places like Mexico and Europe is a nice place to live for the most part but I feel like we should have pride and take care of what we have here in the US!!! Maybe if people stop driving massive SUVs and open up more recycling plants and stop putting everything on credit cards when they don't have the cash to back it up and stop relying on the government for handouts. We have to take responsibility for some of the countries problems instead of blaming the government for everything.

We have our share of problems in the US, but overall, it is a great place to live. Is it dangerous? In some places. Just as many European countries have dangerous places..(remember the family that was attacked in Italy by robbers, then when their son was dying, they donated his organs?) I wouldn't want to live in the Middle East right now. I am sure there are many beautiful places there, but it is quite dangerous.
Maybe I am blind because I have never left America, and if I did, there really aren't many places that I feel the need to visit.
We experience many freedoms and opportunities that people don't have elsewhere. That is why there are so many people that want to come here.

you don't know the stats, but you still claim you have more immigrants then the whole of Europe? You cannot substantiate your statement.
Actually the immigration into Europe is massive, largely due to American adventure games in the middle east. We are inundated with refugees from all over the places where the UK and US are playing commando at the expense of innocent people's lives.
The immigration into the US is only large because you have a mexican invasion on your hands. This has nothing to do with how great the USA is and far more to do with the Mexicans and other latinos slowly stealing back the lands they lost to the white man.

It's becoming a bad place... very quickly... but it's not the worst place yet.
Don't worry though, they're working on it. Pretty soon people will be fleeing the US (Probably to Canada... but also elsewhere).
Unfortionately with the way World Government is going, there will be no place to run. All of the world will be ran the same.

i don't like USA and i wouldn't move there. Europe is more beautiful and it has strict laws against all those citizens from the poor countries that come every year just to make money in the USA.

I´m from Germany, and I don´t want to live in the USA....
Not because i´m thinking that all Americans are like the
Bush - clan...
I think most americans are lovely people, who are living in the wrong Kontinent (and under the wrong President ; )
In my personal "American dream", there is no racism & no "make war for more money&oil"...
...and no incredible men&women wich are at the "front" of you & making Politics...for their own purpose...
(But in this days I have to say that I don´t want to live HERE either...because of the Immigration- laws -and the racism-and the . incredible men&women with are making politics for their own purpose - It´s the same over here...)
Let us search for a new Island to live there all together....in Love & peace and food for all!!

I like canada myself, but the USA is a great place to be.
Canada only gets slightly better marks because you can walk down the street without getting shot in its major cities.
