You are really just looking for a quick fix which is not ideal for losing weight long term. Just think; if you start focusing on eating nutritiously and exercising now, the next time your vacation rolls around you will already be at a desirable weight and can enjoy your vacation!!

For the most immediate results I would avoid salty foods and other foods that may give you bloating such as artificial sweetener, dairy products etc. I would also suggest maybe using a tanning lotion which can have a slightly slimming effect.

For the long haul, however, you need to start exercising each day and focusing on fruits and veggies, whole grains, lean protein, fat free dairy products, fiber, and monunsaturated "healthy fats (as in reduced fat peanut butter, avocados, and almonds). Steer clear of soda, excess alcohol, fatty foods, fried foods, snack food items, cakes, cookies, refined white flour, and high fat meat products. If you eat right majority of the time and exercise, a full small indulgences of your favorite foods will not hinder your efforts.

High protein, low fat and excercise!

After 40 years I finally got it!!! See you can excercise to death but if you don't lower your calorie intake you will burn the calories you are eating but none that are stored as fat. And if you cut way back on your calorie intake but don't excercise you won't gain any weight but to lose weight you need to burn the stored fat. So the only way to lose weight is to excercise and lowere your caloric intake!!!

Try to keep your calorie intake around 1200 per day. Once you have lost the weigth bump it up to 1500 a day.

The thing that is great about (cardio) excercise I just do it 4 times a week for one hour. I gain muscle mass and the wonderful thing about muscle is it burns fat. So it's very easy Protein builds Muscle, muscle burns fat! Your body (muscles) will burn fat even when you are sleeping!!!

So eat lots of lean protein, chicken breast, beef, fish all grilled, low fat cottage cheese, non fat yougurts, salads (be careful lots of high calorie items could be hiding), steamed veggies, and fresh fruits.

I use a protein powder (26 grms 2X's a day) just mix with 4 oz of water and drink. Once in the AM, Once in the PM. Chocolate flavor is delicious! (make sure it has 0 grams of sugar!)

Snacks - Popcorn, yogurt, fruits and Skinny Cow fat free ice cream bars. Stay away from fast food as much as possible (high fat) and processed foods.

Tons of water! If you want pizza then have it! Just eat a big leafy green salas with 70 calories or less dressing before and then have 1 slice. Sounds tough but you can do it. Don't deprive yourself of anything you want. Just have a little.

I lost 65 lbs by just doing this and have kept it off now for a full year. It really is very simple.

Don't worry about losing quick pounds. Enjoy your vacation. There are bathing suits and certain styles of clothing that hide the pounds.

Go to the gym EVERY DAY until you go on vacation. EAT NO CARBS, and load up on protein.
