Okay so I bet you girls have noticed us girls talking on here about how Indian/Turkish guys try and pick us up and say crude things. Although I have also noticed them try and get Indian girls too on here. My question is do they act like that in person? Isn't that terribly disrespectful? Is it just some guys? How do you girls deal with that crap?

Sorry if I am generalizing a bit. I have met some very nice a respectful men from India and from Turkey it is just that the creepiest men seem to come from these 2 places.

Yeah I lived in Germany a few years ago and the young guys were pretty scary.

I have been to Turkey and I realize that not ALL Turkish guys are like that but visiting Turkey was the worst experience of my life. I was followed and harassed and when I tried to ignore them they would yell at me or even through things. I have not had this happen anywhere else although I have had friends who have had this happen in Morroco and Egypt. Is it fare to classify by nationality? No, technically not but it is my experience and the experience of many others who have visited Turkey. I realize that these are not doctors and lawyers doing this but it doesn't matter when someone is throwing coins at your head because you had the nerve to ignore them. Even my hotel manager tried to come up to my room!! I have never had a worse experience then in Turkey and these guys need to know that this behavior is unexceptable.

i'm an indian and can speak for them.. well it depends.. you often get the "cultured" and the "uncultured" - thank goodness, there's more cultured men than uncultured - especially when they're abroad. i'm surprised you've had a bad experience!!

but the best way to deal with the creeps is to purely avoid them... ignore the fact that they're looking at/remarking on/talking to you.. they get the hint and leave you alone!!

PS: i went to turkey 3 weeks back and the guys are SOOOOOOOOO damn annoying! i was literally grabbing my friends and dragging them along to escape those weirdos!!!

I think It is not right thing to clasify according to nationality. Actually it depends on which culture you are coming from and how you look at the things. I am reading all those terrible things about Turkish guys, and I am feeling really upset. Because as being a Turkish girl I have great male friends here. Of course some of them are not well-educated or flirty or even rude, but aren't there in every country those kind of guys? For most of the European or American women Turkish guys are too pushy. I travel a lot. I have same thoughts for Tunusian guys ( not only pushy but also touchy), Germans, Italians, Iranians.....
The best solution is just to ignore them. They are everywhere. As I have mentioned before the main thing is the education, not the nationality.

They're even worse in germany. They also like to violently assault one or two people in large groups.
