Don't associate with retarded baboons of any race. This isn't a race issue that you are having. This is "Really Stupid Monkey Man" sorta dragging his knuckles along the floor and eating his boogers, all the while thinking . . . so help me god . . . that eating his own boogers is like a date-getter. This is "Really Stupid Monkey Man" . . . found in every race, every ethnic group, every culture . . . and you are like "Civilized Satient Being Who Can Read". What are you doing around these morons? Stay away from "Really Stupid Monkey Man", kid. Just stay far away from them. Quit your job, take a hot, sudsy shower and scrub off the cooties they gave you. You're not being "too sensitive". Your radar is right on. Remember this weird feeling that this situation causes you, and you'll know to walk sooner whenever this happens again. And, it will happen again. Having to deal with "Really Stupid Monkey Men" is as much a smelly, nauseating regularity for guys as having to change Kotex pads is every month for girls.

if simply talking nicely to the people insulting you or discriminating you does not work then you have to go formal if you want things to change. make a note of all the occasions you are experiencing racism, what was said and by who and if there was any circumstances that led to the insult.

put them in a letter saying that you wish to make a formal complaint and that you feel the company should uphold the law by taking action against the offenders. the letter should be addressed to your HR/personnel manager if you have one and copy to your immediate manager. its often best to email these letters nowadays so if it goes any further there is evidence the letter was both sent and recieved. if you dont have HR or personnel then address it to your boss. if he seems unconvinced or does not act then take it further up the chain copying your boss.

make sure you have a good paper trail of what is happening and ask for immediate confirmation that your letters have been recieved, again best done by email so you can prove you asked for feedback and if none was given you can prove that also.

if your work does not help you then you should seek help from a solicitor. notify your work you are appointing a solicitor to act on your behalf regarding racism in the workplace and the companies inability to deal with it. its unlikely to go this far as companies know that as soon as things become formal they are by law obliged to act upon it

good luck

I am native american and have seen my share of racism, I think affirmitive action programs suck. The person who should get a job they apply for, should be the most qualified.... It shouldn't be their race religion or sex. But companies , mostly smaller ones, are scared into hiring people based on this crap..It is very hard not to look racist. Where I work we have 3-african americans on my shift. 1 mexican and me, the token indian, out of 18 employees on night shift. 'Ive been there 5 years and the rest ...less 1 year, do the math. people gotta wanna work!!!!!

have you a union rep who you can talk to? if not, who does your boss answer to? its difficult to answer this question giving i dont know what type of work you do. is there any way you can talk to your boss about the situation and tell him how you are feeling? I know racism is a delicate subject in the workplace, but it should not be tolerated, if all else fails, look for a different job before it gets out of hand

go to citizens advice, also make a diary of the abuse and if possible a tape recording using a dictator but at the very least a diary of who when where and what was said/done this is very important first step and citizens advice will tell you this. good luck no one should suffer in the work place or anywhere.

Talk to your local Race Relations Board (see in Yellow Pages) or go the Citizens' Advice Bureaux. This should not go unreported.

Make a report to the head of the company or call the EOE. Let it be known if you have evidence to back up your accusations.
