Not even close to being over priced.
Blu Ray players alone cost between 600-1000, but for the lowest price of a blu-ray player you also get the worlds most advanced gaming system.
As for the price of games, try and remember you're paying for a team of whats now close 60+ people for a years work. All of the wages plus the PR, cost of goods and still get a game for around $50 is amazing. We were paying that for PC games 5 years ago, when the development teams were half the size.

Way to over priced! I read that the 500$ system is a different system then the 600$. The 500$ system doesnt have the attachments for memory cards or hdtv and other things. So if u get the cheaper system u cant add on to it later. They are basically forcing u to buy the 600$ system. So lame!

of course but u know that many movie studios are going to use strictly blue ray technology so after all this comes out if you want to see the lastest new movie at ur home ur going to have to have the blue ray tech which will be a futune. however like everything else proces will go down as more manufactures lower the costs of producing this as its new tech.

I don't know I haven't actually touched, used one yet. I think that the $500.00 range is appropriate though depending on what it can actually do, hey an Xbox is $399.00 and they are much inferior to the Sony system.
