it is time to let go? i think other parties like sunni saad hariri and druze leader walid junblat support nabih berri to stay in office ? he has been there as speaker of parliament for 15 years? why usa does not support other personalities? shia are not sheep, so give them freedom from the yoke of hizbollah and amal?

Externally, the problem is Israel, yes. But internally, Hizbollah & Amal are not less guilty. Why should Israel care if they wipe us out? It's not their country. But these two dare to claim they are patriots & yet make decisions on behalf of all the Lebanese, half of whom dont want them there in the first place. Their alliegiance is more to Syria than to Lebanon.
Of course the kidnapping does not justify anything, but Nasrallah knew that Israel would grab the smallest excuse & turn it into this. We all know he's not stupid.
Where was the Lebanese army??? How dare you ask that??!!! During the Syrian loathed occupation, the Lebanese army was not allowed to gather strength. It could not recruit or buy arms. Any semblance of money was sucked out by Syria, all the while helping Hizbollah to gather more strength & become a nation within a nation.
Hizbollah is a disease, as much as the Israeli Government is. So are people who are completely unaffected yet claim to know it all...

As long as Syria and Iran would be allowed to influence (and as the former answere said: bully) the Lebanese. Education would help to eradicate extremism.
