always get it on with blokes like woody allen in movies.how come the role is never reversed with a hot guy getting it on with a total moose unless its a comedy??

It's just another sad example of the Hollywood stereotype, Lisa. A guy doesn't have to look "perfect" or "hot". Instead he can look "interesting" or his face can have "character" i.e. your Woody Allen. Sadly, if a girl doesn't have the look of the day or isn't willing to degrade herself in any number of ways, in today's world, she won't get a second glance even if she's the greatest actress in the world.

I'm sure that she knows that already. The problem she's having is that she doesn't find herself desirable, leading to a lack of self-confidence. That isn't really something that you can replace with your soothing words of love, as well-intentioned and true as they might be. If she's really feeling down on herself, remind her that you do love her, but encourage her to do something about it. She could follow a weight loss program like Weight Watchers, and also start getting some exercise. Heck, you two could even go for long romantic walks together, and then celebrate afterwards with the best exercise of all. ^_~ All those endorphins and the thrill of progress will surely turn her mood around. She doesn't have to be thin for you to love her, but would you really love her any less if she were? Be the supporting husband. She will blossom once she knows that you care enough to help her. Because guys like Woody Allen have the bucks to hire an actress to pretend that she is actually doing Woody Allen but its not really happening as it is a movie.

Probably because more men will go to the cinema and buy it on DVD, and 99% of them would prefer to see a nice woman than a nice man.

Because those men either are rich, entertaining (i am told girls like men who make em laugh), or well equipped...
The attractive men are usually over confident, arrogant and only after one thing... and that needs an attractive woman...

I thought it did happen, although maybe the guys are total social freaks and mental cases, not necessarily bad looking.
