there is no painless way. Loss of love is always painful. But the only way to do it, is too say it. To prolong this would only add to the pain it will cause.
See be honest and just tell him, it will hurt him. But time will heal the wounds.
Good Luck

Sit down with them talk about how your feeling. Let them know what is troubling you. tell them you have enjoyed the time together, but now it has changed and your feelings have faded. you still love tho not in love its not enough to share a relationship with, there will be tears and hurtful words said, thats only natural. Just say i know this hurts tho i never meant to put you in pain i feel you deserve better and we are not compatible, if we stay together we will end up hating each other and fighting. its easier to end it as friendly as we can wish that person the best in life tell them your there if they need to talk to help them heal .

its hard to say those words coz i know it will hurt him most, but i think the best way is to explain what you feel and tell him that you loved him, it is just that it came to a point where that "love is gone" and you can't go on like that and you feel that it is over, i dont mean to hurt you but it so unfair if we gonna continue this way we are just hurting ourselves..... live the memories you had on the past and never leave any heartaches and anger to your heart and let him be alone for a while coz it will hurt him maybe he cant move on for a while and try to be friends with him if you can.

Use action figures...Nobody can get hurt if a down to scale version of ninja turtle is telling you that. No but seriously don't tell them striahgt up you don't love them anymore that would probably crush them...tell them that the feelings you once had for them are starting to fade or something like that.

There is never a way to tell someone you don't love them without hurting them. Unless he doesn't love you back but thats unlikely. No, your best bet is probably getting alone with him, sitting him down, and telling him deeply and honestly what you feel.

If that person is still in love with you, there is no painless way.
Just be up front, honest and non-accusatory. The only way to avoid increasing the pain is to deal with it and not drag it out.

sometimes you just have to say it and stop trying to ease the pain of that other person.i know it sounds hard, but if your worried about their feelings TOO much, sadly you'll never get it done and you'll always be in a situation that you dont want to be. thus you wil stay unhappy, and thats not fair to you.

By telling someone who loves you, it would not be painless.
But it would be much, much more painful if things are dragged on.

Tell them your life is going in a different direction right now, and you have to follow your own path for a while.
