certainly no longer. London Gatwick is London Gatwick, which rather isn't even in London, a robust 20 or 30 miles south of extra beneficial London. London Heathrow is London Heathrow, placed interior of extra beneficial London, nearer to the M25 ring street.

AIRPORT TRANSFERS
There are frequent buses to the other airports with Speedlink, or Greenline 747 buses. After leaving
customs, follow the signs for these companies to their desks, where you can buy tickets. You should
leave at least 2 1/2 hours between flights if you are connecting to another airport. The travel time
between Heathrow and Stansted or Gatwick airports is around 60 minutes, depending on the traffic.

Get the Gatwick Express which will take you to Victoria station.
from there hop on the underground and go to Paddington

Use this site for more information
http://www.londontoolkit.com/travel/heathrow_gatwick_transfer.htm
By rail you would have to probably go in to London then out again - by road it is much more direct - there are about 100 services each way a day and cost £18 single or £35 return
If travelling outside peak times (ie rush hour morning/evening) you can expect a journey time of about 1h15m

I agree, I think there is a bus link for those who go to the wrong airport.
Other than that, taxi i guess if you need to get there in a hurry.
Short of a helicopter =)

Best way? I would suggest flying out to a nice hot place, having a 2 week holiday, then flying back to Heathrow.
Or did you mean quickest? In which case, I don't know.
