Festivals let people feel like they're a part of something. They give people time to reflect and be thankful, and to be with family. They promote a feeling of sacredness and blessedness in everyday interactions.

Does that make them humbug? You tell me.

Yes, in a way, meaningless, but just following the crowd. Does anyone know actual purpose & meaning of it ? I doubt, very few must B aware of, even how to celebrate. Let's leave it to people who wants festivals & who don't. It's good to see that people are getting joy out of it whatever the way & little, in this hard rude world. Afterall, V can't stay aloof, detatched from the society.

Have you ever celebrated your birthday, with your friends and family? How do you feel?

Festivals are like birthdays and anniversaries celebrated by people collectively and individually.

Though imagine how much loved a person might have been that his birthday still is celebrated each year, the world over, and that too thousands of years after he was born.

Not at all.
Festivals are a way in which we come close to each other as a community and enjoy celebrating as a group which is hard to see otherwise in todays life.
Festival is not something personal but a social affair and it is our duty to be a part of it.
