Do you think the individual citizens of Earth can possibly or will create a global peace eventually by communicating with one another through the Internet?
(A new kind of peace national, regional, and religious leaders or groups have not been able to attain by traditional means of force or diplomacy)

Global peace is just not possible!
and even if it were, talking or communicating through the Internet isn't the way to do it, becaue problems in the world werent caused by misunderstanding alone.. the world is such a mess because of conflict of interests, greed, and thurst for power .. so wars will end only if one side wins all!

The question you asked is a really good one and I commend you for it. It is a hope of all who care about human life and happiness that there is some way to gain enough global understanding and tolerance to allow the Earth to survive human ignorance and intolerance. Every day I ask my higher power to let we humans to become smart enough to see that bloodshed and cruelty are wrong and does not solve anything. The excuses we give like "we are protecting our country" or "they are infidels and must be destroyed" or "that group must die because they disagree with our interpretation of the Good book" and even " Our method of government is different than yours so we must destroy yours" mean nothing if we destroy our homes and possibly the Earth in the process. Enough with the Soap Box. OK, do you think the Internet can be used to preserve or destroy the human race? Yes to both possibilities. Although I hope for the Best for all humans, I do not think in my lifetime we will see it come to pass. The Internet is like all human inventions it can be used for peaceful or destructive ideas. We are the deciding factor as to our fate and ultimately the fate of our Earth.

Neither. The internet is just like the telephone, or the library or a newspaper. It's an educational tool for those who choose to use it as such. It's a communication tool, but how people choose to use it is their choice. It has become a place for bullying and belittling people as well as a place to find comfort. Hmmm, sounds a bit like a big school, doesn't it. As with any tool, it's here to use. I don't think that in and of itself, it is capable of destroying or preserving anything. It still comes down to people.
