I am supposed to go and have a fasting blood test done this week however; I need to know if it is safe to do during my menstrual cycle?

I don't think that is a problem, but you could call the lab where you will be going and ask them to be sure.

u will lose iron since it is found in blood and blood is lost during ur menstrual cycle
Iron is required for many physiological functions, especially the function of hemoglobin - where red blood cells become oxygenated (grab onto a oxygen molecule)

Iron deficiency will leave u feelin tired, weak, & u may have problems concentrating

Other minerals & vitamins will be lost, but it shouldn't have that much of an affect on u since many are stored for a 24hr emergency, just be sure to return to a normal diet after the test so that ur body doesn't suffer
