Yes, the key word here is "TRY" . No one can really live other people's lives, but they can try.

Here are some of the reasons that some people "try" to live other people's lives:

1. They are trying to help.

2. They are trying to solve someone else's problems (usually because they cannot solve their own problems, so they begin on someone else's problems).

3. They like to take control because they enjoy the feeling that the power over someone else gives them.

4. They think they can do a better job than that other person.

5. They CAN do a better job than that other person.

6. The person may have asked for "help" but the helper lost control and then tried to take total control of the other person's life.

7. The person is an expert (ie. doctor, lawyer) and they feel and or know that they can do a better job than the other person can do

8. The person (who tries to take control) is retired and thus cannot think of anything else to do but control other people. (on our block we have a couple of old, retired gentlemen who comment and criticize on how everyone parks their cars. These guys don't own cars, and don't drive and do nothing all day except watch people park their cars and then run to criticize them and comment and argue and yell at the parkers. So, obviously these guys try and take control because they have very dull, boring lives and have nothing to do but interfere with people who do have lives.

THOSE are only some of the reasons that people try and take control of other people's lives.

BUT here is the ONLY real reason that people try and take control of other people's lives:

MOST TIMES, the person doesn't have a life of their own, or they can't control their life of their own or they cannot solve any of their own problems, so they try and take control over someone else's life because that seems like the easier solution.

A defect in human nature. Isn't this what the war is about? Radical Islam believes that everyone on the planet should be like them. They want to kill or convert everyone who's not. Ever been approached by someone waving a Bible proclaiming that Jesus is the ONLY way? Same attitude, different religion. Some folks are convinced that there way is the best and/or only way of looking at things. We'd all be better served to humble ourselves and realize that no one has all of the answers.
