personally I think that prime minister Howard is too close to George Bush and hence the US doesn't want to be embaressed by releasing hicks cause they must have a win in the "trial" to proove them legitement.

Like his lawyer said on TV last night (Enough Rope) I don't think it will be under the current administration. For DH's sake I hope the American voters vote the other side in next time. Even that might not work for him.
I think his best chance of leaving there is if they close the centre... but then they would just move him.

who cares let him die there he was willing to kill for Islamic terrorists, he had confessed he was training to kill Indian troops
why would bush be embarrassed the Taliban have admitted bin laden was training terrorists in Afghanistan, there is no doubt. bin laden planned the terrorist attack on the twin towers, the Taliban would not surrender the criminal. hicks by his own admission was guarding one of the Taliban tanks

who cares? They have ruined a beautiful place that miltary families used to love.. I spent many wonderful yrs there and wish it and I could go back..
