Ive been to six flags before but I want to know which rides I should make sure to hit this time around.

SF in Gurnee IL eh? Well, Deja Vous if it's open is kind of fun. Batman is a staple and a good solid coaster. American Eagle is fun if they're running them close to one another (racing mode). Else, it's just a pretty straightforward woodie.
Iron Wolf is a decent standup coaster if you've not been before. I like Vulture(?) better for woodies at that park for just straight out ride.
Then of course, for newer and bigger thrills, you gotta do Raging Bull for a nice fast steel coaster and then Superman Ultimate Flight.
All in all, a solid park. To answer your question on the one ride, it'd have to be Superman. :-)

I've never been. But I was thinking Kingda Ka. The world's fastest roller coaster and the only wooden coaster in the world that flips.
