Are you asking what makes your afraid...or are you asking what are you afraid of?
What makes people afraid..usually an unpleasant experience that they have lived thru. IE. If a snake scared you one time, or a bug.....then perhaps you are afraid of them now. It takes a lot to overcome your fear..once you become afraid....
I am scared of snakes....not the typical little garden snakes..but the larger ones....I am not afraid of them in the aquarium/zoo..but only when I encounter large ones alone..if i see them from a distance I am fine....but..when they jump out of nowhere...it startles me....
I am also afraid of being a failure in life...

3) completely unknown results (when you are doing something for the first time)..
4)Unwanted tastes/effects/aftereffects..

walking up a big flight of stairs in the dark (feels like something is coming up behind me)
washing my hair in the shower in the dark (if there is a black out) because you cant hear or see anything while your washing away the soapy soap and anything could happen damn it. (think ive never forgotten the shower scene in psyhco- bloody Alfred Hitchcock!)

Others giving in to their fears. Personally I practice unafraidness almost religiously.
