why do you need to replace them, if the port is physicaly damaged, you can replace it it but I think its very expensive, as another solution, you can get PCMCIA card USB, or a converter from COM/LPT to USB,

Yes an no.

Some laptops are very "glued together" and cannot be upgraded, or changed.

Find out of the port is replaceable.
If it is, take it to the shop and get it fixed.
If it isn't, see if you can find a PCMCIA USB Card thing that will allow you to connect USB ports.

The only thing I can think of is to replace the main board of the laptop. Unless your laptop have a PCMCIA slot, you can purchase PCMCIA card with USB port.

Sure why not..tehre is an internal cable with generally 2 USB ports in it ..and that can be replaced internally.
