Yeah, I think you've hit the nail on the head there. People say it because they're either misinformed, or because everyone else (including our president) says it.

Or they're just racist and actually think a race needs a homeland and arabs are inferior to jews (per israel's official policies and laws differentiating jews and arabs and similar lack of equal rights)..., almost forgot that possibility.

Addendum: I forgot this..

I also think that a lot of people fall into the "black and white" trap, where if one side is wrong, the other side must be right (as opposed to less or equally wrong). Supporting a side that's wrong, even if the other side is more wrong, is still not "right".

It is a combination of ignorance and media manipulation.

Fact: Israel did start the war by kidnapping 2 Lebanese civilians 2 days before Hizbollah kidnapped 2 Soldiers. Notice the difference? 2 soldiers and 2 civilians? the funny thing is the media never told the public about the 2 civilian abducitons!!!

Fact: Israelis kidnapped more than 25 members of the Palestinan parliament!! yes, the ones that were democratically elected. But again, Democracy is supposed to be selective, screw the voters.

It is really unfortunate to see so many people blinded by the media, which is biased towards the Israeli side.

I think supporting a country at war could hardly be comparable to the support of a football team, people are dying innocent women and children, but then again the whole world stops doing everything when the superbowl is don't they!!!

Do we ever see how "the terrorists" are treated. It doesn't take much to be called that even an elected government can be called that by some one with a very loud voice. What pictures do we have of a decent Palestine village ?

LOL

Yep. I think it's mostly because they don't want to seem antisemite, because those people are not liked. But don't blame them; they can hear nothing but "terrorists are bad, they take away your freedom" and "Muslim terrorists wanted to kill you the other day". No wonder there are Arab- and Islamophobia.

People don't just say it... anyone who has a brain and can see that Israel did not start any of this, and is only defending herself, would support them.
