do you mean who discovered him?
i got this from his bio on yahoo music:
Leaving the army in 2002, James became a full-time musician. In short order he was picked up by Elton John's management company and inked a publishing deal with EMI. In early 2003, he travelled to the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, where he was spotted by songwriter/producer Linda Perry. She signed him on the spot to her own label, Custard Records, which in turn led to his worldwide pact with Atlantic.

James Blunt first appeared in the public spotlight whilst supporting Elton John on the Peachtree Road tour back in 2004.
I think it's really nice that his song awoke that young girl out of a coma but wonder conversely how many actually slipped into one listening to his monotonous drone!

I found James to be extremely blunt, but I respect him for such directness and honesty.
