With all the strange Anime and Manga titles.............?

Question

How about one called "Itchy the Crotchy"? Makes more sense than Naruto or Tagimoocho or what ever they call that crap. Whatever happened to the good ones, like Vampire Hunter D, Akira, etc.? What the hell is with BoBoBoBoBo.....a dude with friggin' live nose hairs? A boy robot dressed as Little Lord Fauntleroy? W.......T..............F..........?!?

This has NOTHING to do with the Japanese language, and I don't want any psuedo-intellectual remarks because you know one or two Japanese words. I like Japanese culture and subculture-got it?!?

I think some of the titles are funny, like Laputa. The director named it that because he liked the way it sounded, but found out later what it meant in Spanish. Now it's known by the subtitle, Castle in the Sky.
I think most of the strangest ones happen when someone tries to give the show a catchy title in a language s/he isn't too familiar with.

Anime was cool until my fellow americans started watching it. Then it just didn't hold any appeal for me anymore.

Maybe if you learned japanese the names would sound more natural to you, and you could actually appreciate a culture that's not your own. If you don't like it, don't watch it.
