Has anyone experienced a near death experience where your body seemed to leave and see something?
Thanks

If you want to have one yourself, you might try using ketamine. It was developed for use as an anaesthetic, and even at low doses recipients report feeling slightly disassociated with their bodies. At higher doses, users report profound (sometimes life-changing) feelings of peace, finding themselves in locations widely distant from their bodies, reliving events of their history, and seeing bright lights and the sort. Pretty much everything you get in a NDE.

It is considered to be one of the safest anaesthetics around, and is widely used in veterinary practice in America and on people around the world for this purpose. There is no evidence that it causes any kind of long-term damage, but it is highly mentally addictive (being constantly at peace can be pretty tempting, I'm sure).

You can't do this in the U.S., however - it was made illegal as of January 1, 2006. It is available by prescription in the U.K. and in other countries!
