Well sports have to be played by more than 15% of the population in more than 100 countries to be an Olympic sport.
Cricket currently has 10 test nations, 32 associate nations and some 30 odd affiliate nations for a total of about 75, not quite enough, but it is one of the fastest growing sports in the world and is becomeing increasingly popular in countries like China and USA. So maybe soon.
The 20-20 format would be ideal as well, as we have seen with the recent county comp in England which has semis, and final all on one day, it would be possible to cram the game in to such a short period as the Olympics - 16 days on average (could include qualifiers).
To the person who suggested Gridiron?!? Forget it! It is played in USA, Mexico and Canada, and by American expats in Europe and Japan. That makes 5, only 95 countries left to convince!

Yes, i think cricket is more stylish than many other sports and can be included in olympics. 20-20 cricket is charming to see and has many turning points in the game that definitely catch attention and interest of spectators. Cricket should be promoted and included in the olympic games. i guess cricket is being played at professional level in approximately 90 countries if you count Full, Associate and Affiliate Members. I think cricket should have its due place in Olympics

No, it cannot become an olympic sport presently. If more people begins to play it, it may become an olympic sport later.

Football and i dont mean soccer, should be in the olympics, they have the NFL europe now. Football is growing in mexico and japan. Hopefully Football will take over the extremely dull game of soccer in Mexico. Soccer its almost as boring as cricket and golf.

I am initially inclined to say no as there are very few countries that participate (and the big ones eg USA, Russia, most of europe don't). However, I suppose things like Baseball and showjumping (clay pidgeon shooting, archery etc) are included. I would be for it, but i don't expect it soon.
