OB/GYN's have many purposes. They can do fertility problems, birth control, deliver babies, surgeries to correct problems (hysterectomy, endometriosis, fibroids, ectopic pregnancies, cervical cancer, etc.) They also do testing for STD's and counseling. Schooling is very rigorous but apply yourself and you can do it!
You can also be a Nurse Practitioner these usually have a Masters or BSN degree and do some of the same jobs without all of the schooling that a Doctor has to have. These can do physicals (pap smears, STD testing, breast exams, prescribe pills except narcotics or controlled substances) Keep your grades up and there are many opportunities for improvement and apply for scholarships the school offers. I just finished with my practical nursing degree and waiting boards. Good luck and keep your eye on the prize. PS do it while your young I was out of school for 14 years before I got to go back. It is alot harder being a single mom with 2 kids.

Obstetricians deliver babies. Gynecologists diagnose problems with a woman's reproductive system. You would have to go to medical school like any doctor.

An Ob/Gyn is a doctor who specifically deals with women's health. To become an Ob/Gyn, you need to get a degree in college and then enter medical school. When you're done with medical school and rotations, you'll have to do your residencies.
