Formula 1 is a sport which has atleast 20% people of India's sports fans (or 5% of India's population) interested in it.
The reasons can be:
1> Besides N Karthikeyan, nobody else participates in it.
2> It's boring to watch 50-70 laps.

They are very few liking that. But atleast a few, think of games which have 1% of India's population (rounded up, will be atleast 0.30). Those sports are:
X Games, Bike Racing (not MotoGP), Rugby, and many more

Well, i think this is true only in the USA. I am personally a fan of formula 1 and here in the Philippines, with our own AF3 , it has become a dream for many youngsters to race in F1 one day.

Its just too intellectually challenging to be a spectator of motorsports which require drivers to turn in more than one direction. Too much brains required, not enough memory available.
